Mentor Bio

Starting in 2009, Alex Kentie was founder and creative director of Gamistry. He co-developed and published multiple iOS games, Best known for his 2012 hit Munch Time; Nominee for 2012 Dutch Game Award best mobile game, featured worldwide as game of the week on IOS and the first dutch game to land a US top 5 paid position.

He also has experience working on games for Sony PlayStation and Steam, all the while teaching part-time game art courses at Mediacollege Amsterdam to pass on his knowledge in return.

Within the education system Alex has helped start and found numerous hybrid initiatives where education and game development are combined, such as the XR-Lab in Hilversum and his own hybrid game studio, co-founded with developer Berend Weij; Neon Origins. Both under the wings of Mediacollege Amsterdam.

By now Alex is working for over 20 years as an all-round game artist, director & designer and has 16 years of lecturing and mentoring experience in the same fields.
