How does mentoring work?
- As a mentor, we will pair you with mentees that apply for mentorship, based on your profile.
- We will send you the details of the request so that you can evaluate if the mentee is a fit for your expertise.
- You can accept or decline this request.
- If you accept, your contact data will be shared with the mentee. This is when we leave the process.
- We ask the mentee to contact you; in principle, the mentorship process is the responsibility of the mentee.
- You will have an intro meeting. This can be in person or online. Generally we encourage in person meetings, but you can do what works for you. We expect the mentee to come to you. It is in his or her interest to get the advice.
- From here, the process is entirely up to you. A typical mentorship trajectory can be around one meeting per month, or one per quarter depending on the needs. These meetings can be online or in person, whatever is suitable for the situation.
- The mentorship process typically is 6 months, but can be longer if both parties see the value. If it doesn’t work out, you are free to stop. Please let us know in that case, so we can learn from it and improve.
